JIRASKUV HRONOV:
The "JIRASKUV HRONOV" has been the harvest of best performances of Czech amateur theatre with international participation since many years. This festival will celebrate the 80th year in 2010. This is a good reason to host CEC Festival 2010 in the Czech Republic.
Organizers: CEC of AITA/IATA, Czech AITA/IATA Centre, NIPOS; City of Hronov
Date: July 30th - August 7th 2010
Location: Hronov is a small town (approx. 6,500 inhabitants) about 160 km to the east of Prague in the middle of beautiful nature, near the Polish border.
The famous writer Jirasek (1851 – 1930) author of many theatre plays and historical novels was born in Hronov. He initiated the construction of the new town’s theatre building in 1928 and that’s why the Festival (1st year in 1931) carries his name. Hronov Festival is the oldest festival in Europe that existed continuously without interruption.
